Welcome to Macs Practice Law Week!

The Inspired Solo, together with Finis Price’s awesome (and awesomely-titled) TechnoEsq., is happy to present the first annual Macs Practice Law event, a week-long celebration of the under-represented, much-maligned, yet fiercely wonderful Macintosh computer in the law biz.

What To Expect This Week

This week, at both TechnoEsq and The Inspired Solo, you’ll find posts randomly popping up all week about Macs — more specifically, we’ll have posts on the following topics:

  • Mac computers — current models and reviews
  • Switching to the Mac from a Windows environment — personal stories and advice
  • Applications and hacks — how Mac lawyers can use the power of the Mac OS X platform to simplify life and practice

What won’t you find? PC-bashing (although I will certainly tell you why I switched and why I’m glad I did). Also, no Bill Gates bashing — life’s too short, even if he is the devil (kidding!). And no smug, superior put-downs of Windows users — frankly, as cute as I find Justin Long, those smug “I’m a Mac” commercials actually delayed my purchase a bit. This is “Macs Practice Law Week” — not “PCs Suck Week.”

What you will find: honest, accurate, and non-technically-oriented (at least at my blog) posts about how Macs help a lawyer practice law.

Want to Play? You’re Invited!

Got a blog? Want to join the fun? Even if you don’t have a Mac (yet), you’re welcome to join in the festivities. Simply post your thoughts on Macs in the law office, send us a link (either to me at theinspiredsolo at gmail dot com, or over at Finis’s blog – you can also use my contact form here), and I’ll post the links here, under the “Macs Practice Law” category, for everyone to enjoy.

Goodies!

We sent out requests for contributions for giveaways, and while we didn’t quite the haul we were looking for, we did get some good stuff. Every day, we’ll have a drawing for the day’s prize.

To enter, simply leave a comment on one of the posts for that day (at either blog), along with a valid email address. We’ll draw the next morning from the previous day’s comments, and the winner will get the specified prize.

Timestamp on the comment will govern the eligibility for the day; only one prize per person this week; no cash prizes in lieu of gift; no substitutions.
