Last post we looked at how to deal with the not-so-fun times of being a vaunted solo practitioner; this brief post is for the sole purpose of directing you to another resource along these lines that you really should bookmark and come back to, again and again. I intend to.
The resource is from Dan Sullivan at Strategic Coach, and it’s called the “Scary Times Success Manual.” It’s all about shifting gears in those scary times that get to us all on occasion. Framed in terms of what you can forget, and what you need to focus on in place of the forgotten, the article shows you exactly how to change your thoughts to keep yourself on track for success.
Why I dig this enough to post it: too many “advice” pieces like this just exhort you to do half of the puzzle. By that I mean that they’ll tell you to stop thinking this, or start thinking that. They don’t realize, it seems, that these two steps have to go together, for any exercise in personal development.
Step one: figure out the thought pattern or belief that’s holding you back, and let it go.
Step two: replace it with a constructive thought.
Gotta do both. Dan Sullivan gets that.
Hat tip to Pam Slim for passing along this amazing resource; she offers even more awesome resources for navigating minefields (like recessions) here.
