Dealing with Unrealistic Clients

If you haven’t had one yet, just wait – it’s only a matter of time. Julie Fleming Brown’s blog “Life At the Bar” has an excellent piece on this issue. Thanks to Lisa Solomon for pointing it out.

Hey Julie – thanks for popping in. I think it’s more than merely “useful” – this is such a hot topic with many solos, who lack the built-in venting system big law firms provide. No going down the hall to your fellow associate’s office, closing the door, and ranting about the unrealistic expectations of the client who never listens to you for us! I especially like your stress on the intake process. We lawyers have to take responsibility for setting those expectations early, and refreshing them often.
