What do you mean, you’re not taking a vacation? You have to take a break this summer! You want to stay inspired, right? And you know all the studies about how overworked, overstressed lawyers don’t perform up to their stellar potentials, right? (Well, there must be some such studies out there… this is the 21st century, after all, and we’ve got to be in the top five most highly stressed professions around.)
So you will hit that beach, Mr. and Ms. Solo, and you will take a book that is fiction and has nothing to do with new tax regulations or federal criminal sentencing guidelines or electronic discovery – unless, you know, the hero is an overworked associate plowing through document review when he suddenly discovers THE KEY EVIDENCE but then the evil overlords of the opposing counsel BigLaw firm burst in with hired henchmen toting machine guns and Hero jumps out the window and escapes by sliding down the fire escape ladder …. I digress.
